The UPort 1600 Series enables your laptop or workstation with the ability to communicate between a USB (Universal Serial Bus) port and up to 8 RS-232/422/485 serial peripherals. UPort 1600 Series adds 8 Windows serial COM ports via its USB connection and is compatible with new and legacy RS-232 or RS-422/485 devices. This plug and play USB solution is perfect for mobile, instrumentation, and point-of sale applications.

Called MOXA ART, the chip equips the UPort 1600 Series with USB 2.0 480 Mbps (high-speed), 128-byte FIFO, on-chip hardware and software flow control, and burst data mode.
